​Veterans Non-Competitive Appointment

Did you know that if you are a veteran who has served in the armed forces, who has a service-connected disability rating of 30% or more, and are not currently employed in a permanent position with Wisconsin State Government, you may be considered for jobs in state agencies without having to compete or take a civil service assessment?

Before you apply to use this employment process, you must:

  1. Be a veteran with a 30% or greater service-connected disability (documentation must be within the last 12 months)
  2. Have a DD214
  3. Not have been punitively discharged (dishonorable, bad conduct, and certain other-than-honorable​)

Once y​ou have determined that you are an eligible veteran to use this employment process, create an account at wisc.jobs and apply under the Veterans Non-Competitive Appointment, Job ID: 3375. Then take an active role in monitoring open job postings on Wisc.Jobs.​​ While positions are open for competition to others, you can still apply using the instructions in the postings or call the listed contact to inquire about special application procedures which may be available.​
