​State of Wisconsin Student Diversity Internship Program - 2023

The State of Wisconsin Student Diversity Internship Program is one of many internship programs offered by the Wisconsin State Government. The Division of Personnel Management, Bureau of Equity & Inclusion, administers the internship program and provides racial/ethnic minority​ students, female students, students with disabilities, and veteran students an opportunity to work in a professional work environment within Wisconsin State Government. The program provides students with valuable work experience and training in various branches of state government and is a paid internship.

Timeline

  • Internship announcement will be posted to Wisc​.​​Jobs by December 16, 2022

  • Application deadline - February 13, 2023

  • ​Internship interviews - March 6 – March 31, 2023​​

  • Enterprise-wide Orientation for interns and hiring managers - June 7, 2023

Application Process

  • Wisconsin resident 18 years of age or older

  • Eligibility - any student who will be attending or is currently enrolled in 2 or 4 year college/university



Department of Transportation Internship Program

WisDOT offers internship opportunities in a variety of program areas, such as:

  • Information technology (including asset management, security, database support)

  • Human resources

  • Civil and structural engineering (including materials, traffic, geotechnical, construction/design)

  • Facility services

  • Real estate

  • Accounting

  • Urban and regional planning

  • Consumer protection investigation

  • Fiscal services
